Main Street Stone Mountain Needs Your Help!!
All of the events that we put on in the City require volunteers to make them truely successfull. That is where you come in. If you think you have time to help us out, even if it is only for a few hours, let us know! You could do anything from helping us spread the word about our streetscape sponsorship program to maning our snack stand at the 2nd Saturday in May event. We are also teaming up with the Stone Mountain Visitors Center to find volunteers that would be willing to staff the Caboose for a few hours; you would receive training and the satisfaction that you are helping vistors to our great city find all that Stone Mountain has to offer.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, send us an e-mail or give us a call.

In 1822 the area that now makes up the City of Stone Mountain was made a part of the newly formed Dekalb County. A post office was created in 1834 .

By 1839 a general store was added and a village was established under the name New Gibraltar. The name was officially changed to Stone Mountain by the Georgia legislature in 1847.

Today Stone Mountain is a sprawling City of great creativity with continuing projects to improve and inspire growth and prosperity. Stone Mountain City, a City of Vision!
